Why hello there and welcome to my website!
My name is Stephen Ashton and this is the part where I give you a sneaky little insight in to my background in an attempt to answer any questions you may have and flesh out the mystery that enshrouds me. Think of it as my, ‘Origin Story’ so to speak...
From a young age, I always had a passion for art and design and it seemed inevitable that I would follow a creative academic path. Consequently, I did just that, graduating from the Cambridge School of Art in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design having specialised in Illustration.
Upon completion of my degree, I never really looked back and have worked as a freelance illustrator ever since. Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide range of exciting and creative projects including, illustrating gift cards, designing marketing material and points of sale, provided artwork for editorial pieces and story books as well as creating numerous logos and corporate branding. In addition to this I have curated multiple art exhibitions and compiled the accompanying books, laid out magazines and even built websites. I have also designed a wide range of products including beer labels, t-shirts, sticker packs and skateboards.
Working on such an array of projects has enabled me to build a solid foundation of industry knowledge. These experiences have helped me to develop an adaptable and flexible mindset while also instilling me with the confidence that I can adapt to meet the needs of all manner of creative briefs.
In terms of my professional approach, I am organised, enthusiastic and very dedicated to my work. I pride myself on the meticulous approach I apply to ensuring I meet the needs of my clients.
