Japan North
Here is a logo I designed for a Japanese retailer based in, wait for it, the north of England. Sometimes, the best names are the most straight forward.
When I was asked to help design this logo I was thrilled, as it was a way to help an independent business that I wanted to contribute to. Personally, I would always rather support local independent companies over impersonal mega corporations.
I had a great deal of fun designing this logo and generated so many rough ideas before finally settling upon this one. I wanted the design to be a slightly ambiguous combination of both the Japanese flag and a piece of delicious salmon maki- my absolute favourite variety of Sushi. Not the most subtle of ideas, but I think it works well in this instance!
