Love Sick
This is an illustration of my mum’s cat. Since my brother and I ‘grew up’, my mum’s motherly instincts were still sufficiently strong so she selflessly decided to adopt a stray cat which she christened Alberto. Despite my mum’s best efforts, Alberto is not always the easiest to get along with and has more than his fair share of annoying habits including, begging for food, shredding the carpets and killing every rodent he encounters. In addition to these feline faux pas, the top of his list of discretions has to be his fondness for eating out of dustbins and then vomiting on my mum’s doorstep. Mum often opens the door and is greeted by the sight of Alberto sitting next to a fresh pile of cat sick with a bemused look on his face.
